Epsom and Ewell Labour Party
March and Vigil Against Violence towards Women
November 2021
Following the shocking death of Sarah Everard and many other women in terribly violent circumstances in 2021, Epsom & Ewell Labour Party organised a march through Rosebery Park and into the town centre to mark the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women Vigil.
Sue (Women’s and Equalities Officer) and Catherine (Women’s Support Officer) were pleased with the fabulous reception and interest shown.
The walk ended at the Emily Davison suffragette statue in market square where local Councillor Kate Chinn gave a speech calling for safer streets and more action to make women safer.
Cllr Kate later said she was “thankful for the co-operation of the lovely market traders”.
