Epsom & Ewell Labour Increase Their Vote by 42% in County Council Elections
Epsom & Ewell Labour team increased their vote at the Surrey County Council elections by 42% vs the last election in 2017.
We came a clear second in our target seat of Epsom West giving the Conservative incumbent a bit of a fright and and a close third just behind the RA and Conservatives in West Ewell.
We beat the Lib Dems in every division bar one showing Labour here is the progressive choice.
Huge thanks to all our voters! Thank you for your support.
We will keep fighting for a better, greener Epsom & Ewell where community is the priority. The issues you raised on the doorstep, we’ll continue to work on as best we can.
And massive thanks to Ian Ward, Sue Hoyle, Ros Godson, Kate Chinn, Rob, Sarah Kenyon, Stuart, Vince Romagnuolo, Dave Rudland, Debbie, Liz Minns, Joyce, Ian Strutt, Godfrey, Toby, County Cllr again Robert Evans, Jacob Allen, John and Rachel for their drive, Conor Bollins, Ben the maestro of the video camera, and everybody else that helped.
The RA won 4 Epsom & Ewell seats and the Conservatives one. The Conservatives had a bad day in Surrey losing a lot of seats. The tide seems to be turning against them in Surrey, Sussex and the big cities, if not elsewhere.
Overall, the Epsom & Ewell Labour vote was up 42% from 2,157 in 2017 to 3,061 – a fine performance.
Despite our campaign many Labour supporters told us that they still voted Lib Dem as they thought that was the tactical vote. With all Labour supporters voting we can win next time.
