Finally the Press is able to comprehensively report the very strong progress that the Labour Party has made and how spectacularly badly the Tories are nosediving, writes Ian Strutt.

This has been a long time coming, but boy of boy how pleasing it is to read of Labour’s spectacular rise at a time when Tory MPs are split from top to bottom and totally falling apart.

Writing in The Guardian, Polly Toynbee sets out the turnaround in her latest column entitled: “Starmer has scotched Labour’s negatives, now bring on the positives.”

She writes: “The poll of polls gives Labour a 6% lead on an upward trajectory.”

Boris Johnson is plummeting with a 69% disapproval rating against a 31% approval.

Sir Keir Starmer is now put 10 points ahead by YouGov on who would make the best Prime Minister.

Polling company Ipsos Mori points out that Starmer is “beating Johnson hollow on key

measures.”

Boris Johnson is having great difficulty at shrugging off Labour’s strong questioning of him during weekly PMQs. His body language tells the story. During questioning, Boris Johnson buries his head as if to hide.

I have never seen this appalling reaction and behaviour by any Prime Minister during my 60+ years of interest in British politics. Johnson is truly ‘on the run.’

Happy Christmas everybody!
