"We pay enough council tax, we deserve decent public services!" Mark Todd, Labour Party Candidate for Horton Ward
Mark Todd, Labour Party Candidate for Horton Ward

Mark Todd – Horton

Hi, I’m Mark and I live in Epsom and I’m a dad.

I have a degree from Oxford University and I’m a tech entrepreneur. I want to use my excellent management skills to fight for better local services, defend our Green Belt and make Epsom a better, greener place.

The Conservatives and the Residents’ Association have taken Epsom & Ewell for granted for too long. We pay enough council tax, we deserve more than broken roads and broken promises.

If elected, I will fight night and day to save our Green Belt, fix Epsom’s dangerous roads, campaign for better local services and pressure Thames Water to stop polluting local rivers. I’ll be open and available to listen to your concerns and fix as many as I can.

"I am committed to children being able to get better support when they have mental health problems" Sarah Kenyon, Labour Party candidate for Epsom Town Ward

Sarah Kenyon – Epsom Town Ward

Hello, I’m Sarah, I’m an economics graduate, and I’ve lived in Epsom for over 30 years. Originally an actuary, for the past 10 years I have been working as a counsellor and now I manage the Mental Health team at a local charity. I’m married to a teacher and have 3 adult daughters.

Surrey County Councillors have taken residents for granted for too long and as result we have crumbling roads and pavements, cuts to emergency services and a crisis in school places. As a County Councillor I would advocate for the real needs of local residents.

I am committed to children being able to get better support when they have mental health problems. I recently helped to create the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership – a partnership of charities working with the NHS to offer services to support emotional wellbeing for children, young people and families.

"I'll help local people with problems. I won't just disappear into County Hall." Rob Geleit, Labour Party candidate for Court Ward

Rob Geleit – Court Ward

I am standing to stick up for my friends and neighbours in Court Ward. We go out door knocking every weekend and get round the area once a year.

Every time we are out we pick up two or three problems to fix, so over the course of an electoral term we really lift the area. No other Party will do this for you.

We are a strong opposition to the ruling Residents’ Association Party. I have heard one of them say that we are their ‘conscience’.

Vote Labour!

"As a local resident, it's so easy to see improvements." Jason Anderson, Labour Party candidate for West Ewell

Jason Anderson – West Ewell

Hi, my name is Jason Anderson and I’ve lived in the local area for ten years and in SW London for twenty. I work for the NHS (Ambulance Service) and I’m active within my union, Unison.

I take a keen interest in my local area and listen to the concerns of neighbours and friends. I would love to see improvement to our local roads and better facilities for children in the area. I have been actively supportive of local issues like keeping Epsom and St Helier hospital open.

I live with my wife who also works for the NHS and my three children who attend local schools, being a family living and using the local services  it’s easy to see where improvements could be made.

"Have hope, there is a much better alternative to the stale Tories and RA!" Ros Godson, Labour Party candidate for Horton Ward

Ros Godson – Horton Ward

Hello, my name is Ros Godson and I’m hoping to become a Labour councillor for the new Horton Ward. I have lived in Epsom for 20 years and seen many changes, in particular the new developments on the hospital sites. As a nurse I feel quite nostalgic visiting some of the flats which years ago would have been home to nurses like me! If elected I will work hard for you and make sure you feel that voting is worthwhile.

Labour stands for ‘the greater good’ and is the party which believes in properly funding public services and creating a fairer, greener society. Local government and services have seen severe cutbacks under the Conservatives impacting on our schools, youth services and health.

Locally Thames Water, permitted by the Conservative government are overflowing sewage into the Hogsmill river. I’ll campaign to stop this. I am also aghast at the threat to build more houses on the green belt and will always vote against this: if any of the green belt is given away for development then none of it will be safe. Please use your vote wisely on Thursday 4th May

Amos Sibanda – Ewell Court, Auriol and Cuddington

Hi, I’m Amos, I’m a former train driver and used to be the General Secretary of a union. I’ve lived in Epsom for over six years and I love its environment. It has great facilities that I’d fight to preserve and improve as your County Councillor.

My hobbies are reading and writing and being a Christian, community is very important to me, so I’m involved in lots of community activities. I know how difficult life can be so I would listen to you and fix as many problems as I possibly could.

I would be honoured to be your County Councillor and would serve you with energy, integrity, and all my heart.

"I've lived in Ashtead all my life and would serve my community with care and intelligence." Sue Gilchrist, Labour Party candidate for Ashtead

Susan Gilchrist – Ashtead

Hi, I’m Susan. My family has lived in Ashtead for over a hundred years, and I’ve lived in Ashtead for most of my life. I’m involved in so many things. I’m married with two grown up children who attended local state schools including The Greville and St. Giles. When they attended St Giles School they were the third generation of my family to do so.

I’m a retired musician and peripatetic music teacher – I taught in many local schools. In retirement, I’m a member of the Surrey Philharmonic Orchestra and Chair of Dorking Concertgoers.

I’m also a member of the Leatherhead & District Local History Society, Epsom Civic Society, the National Trust and English Heritage, and a volunteer driver for Ashtead Good Neighbours.
