"We pay enough council tax, we deserve decent public services!" Mark Todd, Labour & Co-operative Party Candidate for Epsom West
Mark Todd, Labour & Co-operative Party Candidate for Epsom West

Mark Todd – Epsom West

Hi, I’m Mark and I live in Epsom and I’m a dad.

I have a degree from Oxford University and I’m a tech entrepreneur. I want to use my excellent management skills to fight for better local services and to make Epsom a better, greener place.

The Conservatives have taken Epsom & Ewell for granted for too long. We pay enough council tax, we deserve more than broken roads and broken promises.

If elected, I will fight night and day to fix Epsom’s dangerous roads, save our fire service from cuts, and save the Wells Centre and other community facilities. I’ll do more for the environment, and say no to monster tower blocks and yes to more affordable homes. I’ll be open and available to listen to your concerns and fix as many as I can.

"I am committed to children being able to get better support when they have mental health problems" Sarah Kenyon, Labour Party candidate for Epsom Town and Downs

Sarah Kenyon – Epsom Town and Downs

Hello, I’m Sarah, I’m an economics graduate, and I’ve lived in Epsom for over 30 years. Originally an actuary, for the past 10 years I have been working as a counsellor and now I manage the Mental Health team at a local charity. I’m married to a teacher and have 3 adult daughters.

Surrey County Councillors have taken residents for granted for too long and as result we have crumbling roads and pavements, cuts to emergency services and a crisis in school places. As a County Councillor I would advocate for the real needs of local residents.

I am committed to children being able to get better support when they have mental health problems. I recently helped to create the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership – a partnership of charities working with the NHS to offer services to support emotional wellbeing for children, young people and families.

"I'll help local people with problems. I won't just disappear into County Hall." Councillor Rob Geleit, Labour Party candidate for West Ewell

Councillor Rob Geleit – West Ewell

Rob is a software engineer, writing java for the Government and in the past for the European Space Agency. He’s been a Labour Councillor in Epsom for the last ten years and has fought hard for all of the residents of Court Ward.

Rob is very environmentally conscious and has no car, preferring to travel by bicycle and rail whenever possible. His home has been carbon neutral for seven years, all of his electricity is green and gas offset.

As a County Councillor Rob will be knocking on doors every weekend helping you with any problems in your neighbourhood. He won’t just disappear into County Hall until the next election.

"As a local resident, it's so easy to see improvements." Jason Anderson, Labour Party candidate for Ewell

Jason Anderson – Ewell

Hi, my name is Jason Anderson and I’ve lived in the local area for ten years and in SW London for twenty. I work for the NHS (Ambulance Service) and I’m active within my union, Unison.

I take a keen interest in my local area and listen to the concerns of neighbours and friends. I would love to see improvement to our local roads and better facilities for children in the area. I have been actively supportive of local issues like keeping Epsom and St Helier hospital open.

I live with my wife who also works for the NHS and my three children who attend local schools, being a family living and using the local services  it’s easy to see where improvements could be made.

"Have hope, there is a much better alternative to the stale Tories and RA!" Ros Godson, Labour Party candidate for Nork and The Tattenhams

Ros Godson – Nork and the Tattenhams

I spent the best part of my working life as an NHS nurse working both in hospitals and the community.

For my ‘swansong’ I had an active 12 years as a trade union official (Unite) representing health staff on professional matters as well as lobbying, writing and speaking to members, employers, media and representatives from governments, organisations and charities.

I have lived in Epsom for nearly nineteen years and have been chair of Epsom & Ewell Labour party for six years, which has been interesting and challenging. I am standing as a candidate in Surrey County Council elections to give hope to residents that there is a much better alternative to the stale Tory/Residents’ Association status quo.

Hi, I’m Amos, I’m a former train driver and used to be the General Secretary of a union. I’ve lived in Epsom for over six years and I love its environment. It has great facilities that I’d fight to preserve and improve as your County Councillor.

My hobbies are reading and writing and being a Christian, community is very important to me, so I’m involved in lots of community activities. I know how difficult life can be so I would listen to you and fix as many problems as I possibly could.

I would be honoured to be your County Councillor and would serve you with energy, integrity, and all my heart.

"I've lived in Ashtead all my life and would serve my community with care and intelligence." Sue Gilchrist, Labour Party candidate for Ashtead

Susan Gilchrist – Ashtead

Hi, I’m Susan. My family has lived in Ashtead for over a hundred years, and I’ve lived in Ashtead for most of my life. I’m involved in so many things. I’m married with two grown up children who attended local state schools including The Greville and St. Giles. When they attended St Giles School they were the third generation of my family to do so.

I’m a retired musician and peripatetic music teacher – I taught in many local schools. In retirement, I’m a member of the Surrey Philharmonic Orchestra and Chair of Dorking Concertgoers.

I’m also a member of the Leatherhead & District Local History Society, Epsom Civic Society, the National Trust and English Heritage, and a volunteer driver for Ashtead Good Neighbours.
